Our Team

Arturo Ortega Jr.

Jr joined our firm in April of 2015. Prior to working for our office, he served 8 years in law enforcement working for the Dumas Police Department. Jr is a graduate of Perryton High School and received his BBA in Accounting from West Texas A&M University. Jr is a licensed CPA and provides a broad range of accounting and auditing services for individuals, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, corporations, trusts, estates, and governmental entities. Jr is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs.

Jr is married to Diana, and they have 3 daughters and a son. Jr is a member of Bible Baptist Church in Dumas where he and his wife both serve. In his free time, Jr enjoys camping, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family.

Debra Johnson

Debra has been with our firm since May 2005. Her normal job duties include payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, sales tax reporting, and various bookkeeping duties. Debra is a graduate of Dumas High School and a longtime resident of Dumas. She has an Associate’s Degree from Clarendon Jr College and brings many years of experience in the field of accounting and bookkeeping.

Debra is married to Eldon, and they have a son and daughter, both graduates of Dumas High School. She and her husband attend the First Assembly of God church in Dumas. She enjoys spending time with family and going to her grandsons’ games. Debra is a big sports fan and enjoys attending Texas Rangers games and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Alma Gomez

Alma is our front desk receptionist and joined our firm in June of 2020. Her primary duties include meeting and greeting clients, scheduling appointments, organizing, and filing.

Alma was born in Mexico. She was raised in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School. Alma is married to Luis A. Garcia. They have 2 children, Fabian and his baby sister Emma.

Alma’s favorite past time is spending time with her husband and kids and having family and friends over for backyard cookouts.

Diana Duran

Diana joined our firm in May of 2021. She graduated from Dumas High School in 2015 and then from Amarillo College in 2017 with her Associates in Business Administration. Diana then went on to attend West Texas A&M University where she received her BBA in Accounting. She is currently still attending West Texas A&M and plans to graduate with her Master of Professional Accounting degree in the spring of 2022. After this Diana plans to sit for the CPA exam with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Diana is one of our staff accountants and provides a wide variety of auditing and accounting services for our clients, including tax preparation and consulting.

Diana is married to Ruben Duran. They have 1 daughter, Camila and a baby girl on the way. They also have 2 Goldendoodles, Luna and Frida. On her free time Diana enjoys family time and watching sports.
